CATS

So, I went to see CATS this afternoon because my friend from the conservatory is doing a national tour right now and her company just spent a week in Boston, playing at the Colonial, (the oldest theatre in continual use, built in 1900.) Has anyone ever seen it?? Let me just tell you that it is... weird. There isn't much of a plot; the lyrics are based on the writings of T.S. Eliot. This show is the second longest running show in the history of Broadway! And since it opened it has earned 6 billion dollars and has been on tour non-stop since 1985! That's a lot of dancing cats! Can someone please explain the fascination? the draw? I loved seeing my friend play jennyanydots, but am I running out to see it again? In a word: no.
