On the way home, I went from the bottom of Connecticut (New Haven) up to Hartford, in the middle, and instead of catching 84 East to Central Massachusetts, I caught 84 West which took me an hour and a half in the opposite direction, to the southwestern tip of Connecticut, almost New York, adding three hours to my two hour commute home last night. Ugh.

Homemade Soup in Freezing Temperatures
This new giant stock pot from my parents for Christmas will never be this shiny again...but boy, will it be used! Today I made Martha Stewart's Chicken and Rice Soup. There was so much room in this pot, that I put two thirds of it in the freezer for next time! My favorite ingredients are the peppercorns and parsnips...

Hiking in a Blizzard
Scott and I woke up to a Winter Wonderland. By the end of the day, we will have recieved something like 16 inches! We decided to seize the moment (being home together on a weekend) and go to one of our favorite places outside of Boston, the Blue Hills in Milton.

The Long Drive Back

Well, the holidays are over. Happy New Year and my apologies for such a long absence. The end of my semester was a bear and going home for three weeks doesn't make it easy to journal online regularly, even though it is one of my favorite times of the year...and I'm afraid that this new semester will have me nearly as absent...
My thesis performance has been moved from the end of February to the end of April. My colleagues and I are putting together a showcase to take to NYC for casting agents middle of March, over Spring Break. I have to find time for a voice recital at some point, perform a play with my acting class and make it to all of the various workshops concerning various topics (cabaret, auditioning, call backs, film/camera, etc). Guess I'll take it one day at a time....
This year should be an exciting one:
-Scott and I may move in Sept to a better rent situation
-I graduate in May and
-begin looking for professional work in the theatre, which means being in a two
income situation for the first time in our marriage!
What are some exciting things you are looking forward to this year?
