Over Christmas, Scott talked to Grandpa Eiswald about our car situation and that we might have to spend several hundred on it just to get it to pass the inspection. Grandpa offered to do some of the body work on the rust while we were still in town, but Scott decided to take it on himself. He broke out the rust over the worst of the two: the rear driver's side wheel, filled it in with some putty stuff, sanded and painted it. When we got back to Boston, we went to a garage and paid the state inspection fee of $29 to see if it was "road-worthy." They just made an adjustment to one headlamp and replaced two lightbulbs and 20 minutes and $60 later, we had our inspection sticker! Then today, I took the Green line down to Government Center and stood in a short line inside City Hall, (a very ugly building) for an Allston parking sticker, which was FREE and now I'm happy to report that we are finally parking on our own street. No more problems, please. Thanks.
