Walden Pond

Scott and I went to Walden Pond in Concord this afternoon. This is where Henry David Thoreau lived for about eighteen months, to live the simple life. Scott is becoming more and more interested in this lifestyle, as opposed to being a lawyer or a professor at a top research university. He used to say back in highschool that all he wanted was a leaf hut with a couple of goats and chickens...don't worry, I have a say in things too! But I think he would love to be a Vitner or a Baker or a Gardener in Italy or France.
Anyway, it was really beautiful...and it was only the second time I have gotten OUT OF little ALLSTON in almost five months!

It's beautiful! I knew it would be. I long to visit it someday too, mainly because of how much I've heard Scott speak of it. My brother went there a few years ago, and he loved it as well. Thank you for posting the sign...very thought provoking and worth much pondering. I love our little woods and the creek so much, so I connect with his thoughts very much.
Thank you for letting me share this special experience with you via your pictures and your comments. Thank you alot.

How neat that you got to go to Walden Pond! I've heard of that, so it's neat to see pictures of what it looks like--very beautiful and peaceful. How did you get there?

I bet you're getting so excited to go home next week! Have a wonderful time.

What a great lesson as I look for an apartment & pack "stuff"! Thank you for posting, this helps A LOT! My load to Goodwill will be larger and my expectations less :)
