Grandmother is a mother with time--time to linger in front of a toy store window, time for a visit to the zoo, time to listen to the really important things like the injustice of a playmate or a parent, what happened at school today or the thirty-seven reasons why bedtime should be later.
Grandmother has amazing talent--she is a combination Betsy Ross, Florence Nightingale and Emily Post, with the ability to fix anything from the most mouth-watering treats to fractured toys, torn clothes, bumped heads, skinned knees and broken hearts.
Her home is a treasure chest filled with things to explore, take apart, look through, smell, touch and eat--a wonderful combination of warmth, laughter, and memories--a happy place to visit.
Grandmother may forget bad tempers and cross words, but never forget your birthday. There are hundreds of big and little things which make grandmother wonderful--her friendship, understanding, and sympathy--but most of all, her love! ~Unknown
We love you Grandma! Wish we could be with you on your special day!

I love that you remembered Grandma on her birthday! The poem you posted is perfect for her. What a wonderful woman, and a blessing in all of our lives!
Hi Jayme,
I have to agree that she's quite a lady!!! We will be celebrating her birthday when we have dessert on Friday. Maybe we can print your blog entry for her, and give it to her that day.
I'm so excited to see you.
ENJOY, ENJOY, ENJOY your family. What a rich blessing it will be for you.
Love you, "Mom"
Nope, different Jared.
